From the coast of Stockholm to the island of Filicudi: the change of scenery is complete, but the theme of beauty remains central. It is there, on one of the most remote and untouched Aeolian Islands, that Valeria Molinari, along with gallerist Sergio Casoli, a great enthusiast of the game, organizes the second edition of the Mediterranean Tournament from August 27 to 31. An event that brings together great champions, last year's winner being the Turkish Arda Findikoglu, director of the most important tournaments in the world.
This year, an artistic performance by Valeria Molinari will kick off the tournament. An extra-large 4-meter by 4-meter backgammon board with the island's colors and fish-shaped pieces will be installed on the pier to engage the local community. The artist's challenge is to introduce and share the beauty of the world's oldest game with the young people on the island.
